Thea Vlot

Thea Vlot is co-founder of and partner at Citius Advocaten. She specialises in employment law. She advises national and international companies, directors and employees about collective and individual dismissal and redundancy procedures, non-competition clauses and terms and conditions of employment. She also advises companies and works councils regarding employee participation.

Thea studied law in Leiden. She has worked at various courts and at the Enterprise Chamber in Amsterdam. She has been a lawyer since 1999. She began her career at Trenité Van Doorne and has been practising independently as a lawyer since 2007.

Thea is part of the permanent team of editors of the case law journal Rechtspraak Arbeidsrecht (‘Employment Law Jurisprudence’). She is also a board member of the Amsterdam Association of Business Lawyers, and a member of the international association of lawyers AIJA (alumni).

Thea has registered the following principal (and secondary) legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister): Employment law (Collective Dismissal, International Employment Law, Employee Representation). Based on this registration, she is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
